This is a micro fused, braided bead thread consisting of a gel-spun polyethylene, which is known as the strongest fiber, per diameter, ever created. It has an unbelievably high tensile strength and has been recommended for various bead weaving and jewelry-making projects. S-lon Fire comes in 4 sizes: 4lb. test with a .005Ó/.12mm diameter, 6lb. test with a .006Ó/.15mm diameter, 8lb. test with a .007Ó/.17mm diameter and 10lb. test with a .008Ó/.20mm diameter. The spools come in both clear and black and are available in 3 lengths: 15, 50, and 125 yards/13.7, 45.7, and 114.3 meters. For stringing and weaving, we suggest English beading needles. Use a #12 for 2-6lb. test and a #10 for larger diameters.
