Kunzite is a beautiful natural gemstone recognised for its delicate shades of blush pink, rose, lilac, lavender, and violet-pink. Ranging from transparent and translucent to more included material, every piece displays its own subtle variations in colour and natural character.

Kunzite is the pink to violet variety of Spodumene, a lithium aluminium silicate mineral. Its beautiful colouring is primarily associated with trace amounts of manganese. Kunzite also displays pleochroism, allowing different shades or intensities of colour to appear when viewed from different directions.

Traditionally, Kunzite has been associated with love, compassion, tranquillity, emotional balance, kindness, and peaceful communication. These metaphysical associations are based on modern gemstone traditions and are not scientifically proven.

With a hardness of approximately 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale, Kunzite is reasonably hard but has perfect cleavage and should be protected from knocks and impacts. Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may also cause some Kunzite to fade, so store it away from direct sunlight when not in use.
